fiber arts and feminism
As knitting and fiber arts are very close to me personally, I felt researching the history in the context of feminism was an opportunity to further my appreciation for the art. I compiled my research for an essay as well as a lecture.
The goal of this project was to research how fiber arts and feminism have historically been intertwined prior to our modern feminist understanding. I spent a month researching and compiled it to format my essay. To develop my appreciation of knitting, I chose this topic to investigate the historical significance of knitting and how they were diminished with industrialization.
