ragehaus

Ragehaus was a collaborative event designed using Priya Parker’s gathering principles. Using prompts to guide the event and get our guests thinking more deeply, we were able to evoke an anxiety relieving, angsty event using a paint throwing style room.

the goal

outcome

Ragehaus was a big success among our guests. With an average rating of 4.5/5, our guests said they felt were more relaxed and felt inspired after the event. The guests expressed that they enjoyed the community focused aspects of the event and working in a group to paint their canvas

Ragehaus is an opportunity for everyone to let go of their stress without thinking. We wanted this event to create an environment that everyone felt safe and comfortable to release something they’re holding on to. We used a punk theme to emulate angst and counter culture that allows everyone to release in a loud, uncontrolled way.

The paint room let our guests be as messy as they wanted, as long as they followed the prompts!

Every 15 minutes we changed the prompt.

Prompt 1: Create with the color that represents you.

Prompt 2: Self portrait with only geometric shapes.

Prompt 3: How are you feeling right now? Show it without touching the canvas.

Prompt 4: Write down everything on the canvas that’s causing you stress.

Prompt 5: It’s time to reset. Paint your canvas black.

Prompt 6: Write down everything you are grateful for.

challenges

Collaborating to create an event our group was interested with took a lot of discussion. We transitioned between a paint throwing room and a vacation themed event. We quickly felt the vacation themed room lacked the depth and storytelling that we wanted to emphasize especially considering Priya Parker’s gathering principles and ensuring our event follows a timeline. Ultimately, we felt a paint throwing room could offer our guests more, and they could take more from this kind of event. After further discussion, as a team we mapped out how we could achieve Ragehaus.
